Prayman (Zigzag Design)
Inspired by an existing artwork in which the Shahadah (see explanation) is illustrated with Arabic calligraphy to represent the shape of a praying man (see example).
I used the original artwork as a source of inspiration to create three unique woodcut prints experimenting with this shape and its effects in different background structures.
These three woodcut prints were then digitally grouped together on one side, while a digitally altered version of these images was designed with a similar woodcut texture.
These two grouped images were then printed in a Zigzag folder execution creating a standalone artwork that adds a visually impressive design element to any space.
